I am proud to be a graduate of the UIC Family Medicine Residency. It was here that I learned how to be a full-spectrum Family Medicine Doc and go along to have the broadest scope in our department. This program trained me to exercise inpatient and outpatient medicine, geriatrics and home visits (with help from a UIC Geriatrics Fellowship), maternity care, reproductive health, procedures, LGBTQ wellness, medication-assisted handling (MAT) and more than! I, and the residuum of the Section's faculty, train our residents to provide evidence-based comprehensive intendance as compassionate, patient-centered physicians.

We accept an extremely diverse patient population at University of Illinois at Chicago and are 1 of the pinnacle Medicaid providers of Illinois. Our residents receive strong training in underserved care. Our residency program's broad patient populations depict from ii complementary clinic sites. University Village on the UIC undergraduate campus serves an ethnically and economically diverse community with an array of health insurances. UI Wellness'southward big academic medical system provides the benefit of training in avant-garde specialty and subspecialty departments via upper-level rotations. Within the academy medical center, we maintain 2 "unopposed" Family Medicine inpatient services. In these services, we provide care to our ain adult, child, newborn, and maternity patients as well every bit a portion of the "unassigned" patients admitted from the Emergency Department. Our residents also rotate with several specialty services at Jesse Brown Veteran's Administration Hospital, and we hold a competitive Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014 (VACAA) grant.
